1st team grab 5 points away in Suffolk

Park set travel yet again to Suffolk on yet another coach trip looking to continue a very good start of the season .

It was a cold crisp October afternoon , with a late change to the side with Jamie Harbour being called up to the squad just an hour before we was set to travel to stowmarket , Matthew Holder coming back from Cardiff on the first train back in the morning , shows the level of commitment and the want to be part of the squad this year .

Park kicked off and immediately put the home team under pressure . Some good early exchanges of hard runs from the backs and some big hard hits from the forwards , give park the lead with Karl Prestoe going over and Jack macveigh converting to make the score 0-7 .

It was stowmarket turn to mount some pressure and after a very solid defensive effort stowmarket found a hole and squeezed through and the conversion was good to make the score 7-7 .

A great middle section of the first half where park come back and created a number of opportunity’s but was unable to covert , yet again stowmarket put a good attack platform together but the park defence line stood firm

From an exit kick and good chase park forced stowmarket back and with good pressure in the defence stowmarket cracked a loose ball picked up by the late call up Jamie harbour to score in the left corner .

Park didn’t rest and With the park pack now fully dominating the opposition scrum stowmarket starting flagging and park mounted a number of phases , but credit has to go to stow for holding the ball up .

The pack had it’s chance to shine and did with a massive shove towards the line Number 8 Billy nelson guided his forwards controlling the ball to score with jack Mac adding the conversion to make the score 7-19 .

Words had at half time on certain challenges and aspects of the game we needed to tighten up , park starting the better team , but yet again couldn’t convert opportunities.

Stowmarket however could pulling two try’s back making the last 13 minutes of the game a much closer game than it should
Of been .

Park mounted the attack deep into the 22 only for the stowmarket prop to kill the ball and get a yellow card park elected to scrum going forward with momentum the stow back row deliberately slaps ball out of the channel only for another penalty to be given.

Further pressure on by park went through a number of phases yet again stows discipline turned and another yellow shown for a professional foul .

Park nudged the ball to the corner elected to lineout driving towards the line to full short , a quick phase between Karl Prestoe and skipper Micky James see the skipper over the try line in the left corner jack Mac finding his range to take the score 21-29 .

Another hard thought win this week on the road , another game that challenges was shown and we had to work hard to overcome , a 5 pointer away from home and a tough place to go to get a result never mind 5 points .

Has to be said yet again the boys worked just as hard on there costumes for Halloween , with skipper Micky James giving his post match speech with nothing but michael Jackson song titles .

Also like to thank the continued support from an ever growing following , which really does make a huge difference to the boys .
