Not many teams will Win their but we did......

The first team set travel down to southwold on the longest coach journey of the season.

On arrival the boys got a sharp reality check , when they arrived On the coast of southwold the heavens opened and the sharp sea air gave the lads an indication of the sort of day that was in store .

Park started of brightly on one of the smallest pitches I have ever seen at a first team game , putting southwold under immediate pressure , with the weather conditions getting worse the home side played in what could only be described as old school rugby with kicks to corners catch and drive and pick and goes .

Romford defended extremely well but was the home side who scored first from a lineout catch and drive which the kicker done well convert .

This spark park into gear and within 4 mins park elected to kick at goal with the wind in there favour Ross Inwood found his range and converted the penalty from 45 metres out .

The second half started and park now in the face of the wind started to find the rhythm to there game , working the southwold defence putting them under more and more pressure park finally broke through with Bill nelson scoring to bring the score 7-10 with 20 mins to go .

Southwold mounted an attack and park gave a penalty away which the southwold kicker duly converted .

Park mounted pressure again on southwold and from a knock on southwold had a scrum the 10 was tackled by Ian Semain, the ref deemed this to be above the horizontal and sent Semain of.

With 12 mins to go park knew this was going to be about test of character , and immediately went after the win where in times would of shut up shop , pressure and quick phase play proved to much for southwold even with a man less park created a 4 on 2 which which the young 17 year old winger Tyler ford scored his second try in 2 games , Jack macveigh converting from out wide .

With 4 mins left southwold mounted the pressure but the park defence with held any further scored from southwold, to take an outstanding win in tricky conditions and with a man sent of .
