League leaders toppled & 2s run riot

Woodford lost thier unbeaten status after we we travelled ro thier ground and took home a Bonus point win

Our 2s travelled to Old Cooperians and after lending them playera ran riot with another Bonus point win

Romford traveled to Woodford in a top
Of the table clash .

With both teams in fine form park 7/8 and Woodford with a perfect record this game was always going to a great spectacle of rugby .

Park with a massive traveling crowd taking over the Woodford balcony came to give the boys that extra encouragement.

And it was park that struck first with a penalty from jack Macveigh to get of to a great start 0-3 park .

Woodford come back strong and immediately put park under pressure and found them selfs over the try line and extras added 7-3 Woodford .

Speaking this week about every negative must result in a positive reaction it was park that went over next ,with the Woodford pack under pressure Dwayne Lyn worked hard to get of steal the ball that put Barney savil into space where he was tackled quick ruck and quick hands from forwards Holder and Prestoe quickly moved the ball to the youngster Tyler ford , he burst clear and was certain to score before the Woodford fullback come across and tackled him high leaving the ref no choice but to award park a penalty try 7-10 .

Park with confidence started to get the better of the exchanges and with another attack from park the Woodford scrum half was deemed to be killing play and was yellow carded , park kicked to the corner and mounted an attack , a number phases going with the flow Barney see there was a mis match back on the reverse and moved the ball and the yet again the youngster Tyler found his way to the try line , macveigh pulling the kick just right of the posts .

Woodford immediately mounted an attack looking to reduce the deficit before half time but was kept out by some excellent defending , and to finish the half a fine tackle and vice skipper Aidan mersh managed to jackal the ball and claim the penalty to finish the half on a massive high

Half time 7-15

Second half started and Woodford immediately amounted the attack but was yet again met by a massive wall of romford players , park yet again weathering the storm went and put some great phases of attack together and the returning Ian Semain battled through some resilient defence from Woodford but wasn't good enough for the number 8 to score and macveigh add the extras 7-22.

Woodford come back as they always do and mounted a massive amount of phases with some what 10 minutes of play in the romford half , a knock on by park giving Woodford a scrum advantage , the powerful Woodford 8 attacked the channel ,unfortunately the ref got in the way and managed to score the try converted as well leaving the scores 14-22 .

More pressure from Woodford and yet massive amounts of tackles repelling the Woodford attack back , eventually Woodford elected the post which was scored to bring the scores 17-22 with 15 mins to play .

Park finally got there hands on the ball and found themselves in the Woodford red zone , a penalty awarded, skipper Micky James elected for a scrum with the scrum starting to move Semain spots the gap attacks it and scored macveigh adding the extras .
17-29 .

Woodford pushed but yet again Romford worked hard to stop anything else getting over the line . Romford moving through the phases and counting the clock down sensed time was up Harry walker put a kick in over the top the ball just running away from jack Irving , the ref blows his whistle and the biggest cheer of the day from players and spectators as romford beat the unbeaten Woodford 17-29 and close the gap In the league to just two points .

It was an absolute fantastic game of rugby by two very good teams , the extra 1% from the traveling support really become the 16th man and to finish of with the balcony full of romford supporters singing the club song only for the players to huddle and join in ,which for anyone looking In was absolutely an unbelievable finish to the end of the day .

All 18 players played a massive part in this win and all deserved the man of the match award but it was youngster Tyler ford who was out sized by his opposite number but kept him a bay all day with some fantastic hits and the two try’s that he beat his man on the outside to score , someone so young has a massive future ahead of him !
