Eton Manor v R&GP 1st XV - 15th Mar. '14

000 - The teams
001 - Matt Catchpole (5) makes the forwards first attack
002 - Tom Cameron (9) is brought to ground
003 - Tom directing his forwards as they drive a maul forwards
004 - Manor's No. 11 cuts inside Ross Inwood (15) and wing forward Ricky Howard (6 but wearing 10, who is he kidding) closes in.
005 - Manor's No. 11 makes a bee line for the corner
006 - to touch down for Manor's first try. Fortunately the conversion failed. Score 5 - 0 (14 mins)
007 - Charlie Wilkinson (7) takes clean line out ball.
008 - Joe Howard (11) cuts across field from his wing whilst Bradley Norman (10) and Dan Harnett (12) try to work out what he is going to do. No chance. Not even Joe knows that.
009 - Jake Jones (13) hauls down his opposite number as Vytaras Blotskys (14) looks on.
010 - Joe on another run.
011 - Vytaras finds space on the right wing and hits the loud pedal.
012 - Vytras fends off his opposite number
013 - and flips the ball back to Dan
015 - Who collects and sends the ball back along the line.
016 - Three of the club's sages enjoying the sun. Is that really coffee Bill and Joe?
017 - another Manor attack on the right.
018 - Joe takes out the full back.
019 - Whilst Ross forces the winger inside
020 - into the clutches of Jake who dislodges the ball for Ross to collect and kick into an attacking position.
021 - The chase is on with the winger and full back out of position. But unfortunately Manor's cover is good enough
022 - Charlie charges down the right
023 - Slips the ball to the "Latvian Express"
024 - Who turns on the after burners
025 - crosses the line and powers towards the posts
026 - gets ready for touch down
027 - TRY (21 mins)
028 - One happy Team Manager
029 - Ross takes aim
030 - a sweet contact sends the ball between the posts
031 - confirmed by the flying flags. Score 5 - 7
034 - Nice to see it on the board
033 - Joe and Jake take out that tricky winger as he attacks the Park line
035 - Manor attack on their left as Vytaras and Jake cover
036 - Vytaras cleverly steals the ball.
037 - Charlie kicks for position
038 - Joe closes down his opposite number
039 - "Matt the Catch" sails high to take clean ball
040 - Ian Semaine (16), substituting for Ricky gets close to the out half as he sends in a clearance kick.
042 - Bradley feeds Dan

044 - Tom feeds Ian
046 - Dan moves the ball right as Ross comes into the line
047 - and attempts to drive between the opposition centres
048 - Joe makes another tackle on that tricky winger
049 - yet he feeds the full back
050 - who slips inside Jake.
051 - But cannot avoid Dan.
052 - and the ball comes loose to Jake
053 - Park are penalised for some skulduggery at a maul as Max Irwin (1) looks on in disbelief

055 - Matthew Worrall-Clare (17) replaces him and Ian is sacrificed
056 - Barney enjoying the sun
057 - Matthew gets those fresh legs into action
058 - Bradley sends out a long clearance kick
059 - The Second half starts with a charge by Matt.
060 - Charlie takes clean line out ball
061 - Dan streches his legs
062 - Paul seems surprised to receive the ball
063 - Ross is ensnared by the Manor centre
064 - But slips the ball to Ant Catchpole (4) who is supported by his brother
065 - Manor's scrum half has left the field to be replaced by that tricky No. 11. The replacement winger slips inside Dan, he could be a handfull,
066 - then beats Charlie and takes on Joe.
067 - Ross sends a long clearance up field with the wind and follows up with a tackle on the Manor 5 metre line.
068 - The ref construes it as a penalty to Manor!
069 - Clean take by Paul
070 - The new winger shows his speed and crosses Park's line
071 - to touch down close to the posts
072 - Score 10 - 7 but the conversion is added making it 12 - 7
073 - Ian Semain is back on after the yellow card expires. Micky James (2) and Ant look on as he struggles to break free.
074 - Jake looks for a gap in the defence
075 - and starts a mazy run
076 - across field and feeds
077 - Ian who charges with Micky in support
078 - He weighs up the covering defence
079 - puts on the brakes
080 - cuts inside and leaves the winger helpless
081 - and feeds Paul
082 - Who sets up a ruck
083 - Tom picks up from the back of the ruck and surges forward
084 - at great speed
085 - Jake is running in support
085A - the crowd is giving hin great vocal support
086 - Tom is outpacing Jake but the full back is coming in.
087 - Tom brakes
088 - Cuts inside leaving the full back floundering
089 - heads for the line
090 -a few metres to go. Butler is happy
091 - The line is in sight
092 - He dives
093 - with no one around
094 - Touchdown for Tom's first senior TRY. Well done.
095 - Time for a victory roll
096 - It would have been nice to have got closer to the posts. The move started by Jake, carried on by Ian and Paul, finsihed by Tom. Good team work
097 - Ross sends the conversion on its way but it misses in the strong wind. Score 12 - 12
099 - Joe starts one of his runs.
100 - Side steps the centre
101 - is tap tackled
102 - hits the ground
103 - rolls and bounces onto his feet
104 - shields the ball
105 - no way is he letting go of the ball until he is ready
106 - Bradley moves the ball wide
111 - Ian looks very determined and Charlie is in support
112 - Ian outpaces one defender
113 - and then another two and gets ready to pass to Vytaras as the full back comes in
114 - but sidesteps inside the full back
116 - heads for the line with that speedy winger in his wake.
117 - a great tackle and the ball flys from Ian's hands a few metres from the line.
118 - Ian is distraught whilst Vytaras and Kevin B are amazed
119 - a Manor scrum results from the knock on but Park get the pressure on and win a penalty near the posts.
120 - Ross sends the ball on its way.
121 - and slots the kick.
122 - Kevin confirms it. Score 12 - 15 with 18 minutes to go
123 - Tom sends the ball wide from a line out
124 - Bradley kicks for position using the following wind
125 - A tricky bouncing ball 10 yards from the Manor line.
126 - Ross closes down the full back
127 - and dislodges the ball.
128 - The Manor winger swoops
129 - gets ready to pass to a team mate
130 - who unfortunately (!) slips and the ball flies into touch. Park attacking throw on the Manor 5 metre line.
131 - Matt the Catch takes clean ball
132 - The ball goes to ground
133 - Penalty to Park
134 - Ross sends the ball on its way but the wind is just too tricky. Score still 12 -15 with 15 minutes remaining.
136 - Manor's second row has dastardly intentions for Dan and Jake.
137 - Matthew gets ready to launch
138 - Joe cuts loose. Anything could happen
139 - He eyes up the opposition
140 - heads into contact
141 - What is this? Manor score a try on their left wing. Score 17 - 15. That is not in the script
142 - The conversion is on its way but misses. Score 17 - 15 with 8 minutes to go
143 - Bradley sends the ball high
144 - Manor take a line out with their only jumper of the afternoon
145 - Manor attack on the right through their subsititute wing. He slips Ross' tackle and heads for the line.
147 - He crosses and touches down as Jake and Joe have a discussion with a couple of their Manor friends. Score 22 - 15 with 6 minutes to go.
148 - The conversion is good. Score 24 - 15 . The bonus point disappears
149 - Paul leads the fightback
150 - Tom spins it wide.
151 - Bradley passes to Vytaras
152 - Who has Ross in support
153 - Vytaras is tackled
154 - Tom recycles the ball from the ruck
155 - Charlie sets up Micky
156 - Who hits two very large objects in Manor jerseys. Maybe not the right decision.
157 - "Matt the Catch" takes another line out ball and sends it to Tom
158 - who sees a gap. But it rapidly closes
159 - Matt feeds Ian. Can he produce one of his hallmark charges?
161 - No but he releases Ant down the left
162 - Now Ant charges down the right
163 - Only to be pulled back by his shirt tails
164 - Final score 24 - 15. Null point for Park. Not what they deserved
