Luton v R&GP 1st XV - 6th Sept '14

000 - Team sheet
001 - First minute and the Luton fullback runs from his own 22
002 - drifts through a couple of tackles
003 - and touches down to score - wake up boys.  Not the start to the season we wanted.
004 - the conversion is added 1 minute in and 7 points down. Oh dear.
005 - Matt Phillips (15) takes the restart.
006 -  Matthew Worral-Clare (3),   Glen Kennedy (2)  and Ant Catchpole (1) get ready
007 - Captain Charlie Wilkinson (8) flies to take clean line out ball
008 - The driving maul is set and then good ground is made.
009 - Glen checks the line out call
010 - Charlie flies again with the aid of Peter O'Brien (6) and Dwayne Lyn (7) as Matthew and Matthew Catchpole (4) look on. - Great throwing
011 - Tom Cameron (9) pressurises his opposite number
012 - and the ball flies loose
013 - Matthew on a charge as Matt looks on
014 - Charlie flies again - the line out is working fine.
015 - Matt joins in with a line dance
016 - but runs intop the Luton pack
017 - Neverless he gets the ball to Tom
018 - who moves it on to Storm Pearton (10)
019 - Storm gets the line moving
020 - a step to the left
021 - and then to the right
022 - brings a great tap tackle from the Luton 9
023 - Matt P moves the ball wide for the pack
024 - Dwayne picks up speed and heads for the line
025 - the cover tackle comes in
026 - and takes him towards touch so he unloads
027 - to Matthew
028 - who crashes over.  Only to find out the touch judge had raised his flag!  I hope Matthew is not developing a touch of the POB syndrome
029 - Park are on top in the mauling game
030 - Charlie attacks on the left supported by Tom, Peter and Ant.
031 - He slips the ball to Tom who is bundled into touch inches short of the line.
032 - More Park pressure requires a releiving kick from the Luton scrum half
033 - Charlie and Dwayne try to charge the kick down - but where is the ball?
034 - Bouncing towards the Luton line with Matt C in hot pursuit
035 - The race is on
036 - an unkind bounce for Luton
037 - Surely that is tackling a man without the ball!!!
038 - Matt carries out his "Twizzle" impression (one for the over 50s) and gets downward pressure.
039 -  The conversion by Ben Lawrence (11) flies through the posts - all square
040 - Luton's out half takes a penalty
041 - and slots the 3 points.  Back to catch up at 10 - 7
042 - Charlie gets ready to release Reece Par (14)
043 - Reece gets in one side step
044 - and returns the ball to Charlie
045 - who gets up speed with Peter in support
046 - Storm tries an unsucessful brweak through the centre
047 - Mitchell Smith (13) runs from defence
048 - and releases Ben Lawrence (11) as the grumpy Luton coach looks on.  His boys are coming off second best.
049 - Ben  puts in a delicate chip that puts the defence under pressure
050 - The talented Luton full back runs the ball from the danger area
051 - Substitute second row, Jack Pearce (16), takes line out ball at #4
052 - Tom spots a gap as substitute Dan Harnett (17) and Jack look on
053 - Matthew juggles with a loose line out ball
054 - and then drives towards the back of the line
055 - Storm looks to get the attack going
056 - but runs into trouble
057 - Jack again takes clean line out ball
059 - Tom moves the ball wide
060 - to Pete
061 - who is tackled as he passes to Matt and the ball goes down
062 - Dan screams for a scissors move
064 - Matt P attempts a break out - watch the shirt its new.
065 - Matt unloads
067 - to Charlie who also gets his shirt tugged
068 - Tom keeps the pressure on the No. 8
069 - Now Jack lines up the fly half
070 - Jack with ball in hand this time
071 - offloads to Mitchell
072 - Who evades a couple of tackles
073 - And passes to

075 - a flying Ben on the wing
076 - who streaks for the line
077 - Crosses it
078 - and then touches down for Park's second well deserved try
079 - Ben then lines up the conversion
080 - sends it in its way
081 - it splits the posts to give park the lead 10 - 14
082 - Matt attempts a drive out of defence
083 - then releases to Jack
084 - a penalty to Luton makes the score 13 - 16
085 - Another penalty
086 - again sucessfull - the score is now 16 - 14.  Which does not refelct the play.

089 - Now a penalty to Park and Ben takes another great kick
090 - and admires his handywork (or is that Footwork)
091 - It flies through the posts to give Park the lead again 16 - 17 a lead held at half time
092 - Captain Charlie on another charge at the start of the second half
093 - attempts to steam roller a Luton centre
094 - Who eventually brings him to a halt with a little help.
095 - Ant looks to get a move going
096 - Charlie feeds Tom
097 - Next Charlie chips ahead
098 - and pressurises the winger to concede a throw-in on the 5 metre line
099 - Now Charlie rises high, with the help of his friends, to take clean ball
100 - Tom probes the Luton defence
101 - The Luton wing forward gets a ticking off
102 - Mitchell shares a joke with the ref.. Then kicks the penalty in to touch for another Park throw in
103 - Once again Charlie is elevated to great heights
104 - The driving maul is set
105 - Jack attempts to charge down a clearance
106 - the ball flies loose on the Luton line and Darren Cooper (5) swoops
107 - the ball bounces favourably for Park but there is still work to do
108 - Finger tips on the ball
109 - up it pops again
110 - Now Darren has both paws on it, but is it secure?
111 - a twist clear of the defender.
112 - This ball is going down
113 - Down
114 - Down
115 - TRY - just short of the dead ball line - well done Darren and Jack
116 - Ben's conversion flies through the posts and flags are raised.
117 - Romford have a two score lead 16 - 24
118 - Dwaine breaks clear again
119 - Matt P sizes up the fly half
120 - Jack and Peter break left in fron of a monstrosity
122 - Dan is tackled in possession
123 - A Luton penalty sails towards the posts
124 - but misses
125 - another penalty
126 - unfortunately this time it is sucessful - Park lead  19 -24 with 25 minutes to go
127 - Matt C tackles his opposite number
128 - Matthew makes a determined charge - I can still feel the ground shaking
129 - He takes on the scrum half
130 - who, with the winger's assistance, brings him to a halt
131 - Now Dwaine pressurises the line
132 - Now it is Darren's turn to look for that decisive score
133 - Matt C tries his luck
134 - Tom keeps the pressure on his opposite number at the base of the scrum
135 - and forces the ball to go loose
136 - Ant looks to take the opposition on as Jack is tackled off the ball
137 - Another Matthew charge
138 - it is a long way to go for a prop
139 - Surely a high tackle
140 - Darren flies high to take clean line out ball
141 - Luton attack the Park line with minutes left
142 - the ball goes wide
143 - and reaches the full back who has come into the line but is stopped by Dan
144 - an attacking Luton line out of the left sees the ball move along the line to the right wing
145 - who touches down to level the match - most unfair
146 - Score 24 - 24
147 - the conversion is on its way but misses.
148 - Luton put on the pressure
149 - another penalty to Luton, just inside the Park half
150 - Fortunately it misses and the match ends all square.  Luton must be happy but Park will be disappointed as they were clearly the better side.
