R&GP 1st XV v N Walsham - 17th Jan '15

000 - Programme
001 - The teams
002 - North Walsham kick off
004 - NW set up the first ruck
005 - Then drive for the line but captain Stephen Barfoot (12 but wearing 22, don't ask me why) halts their progress
006 -NW continue to pressurise the Park line
007 -Two minutes into the match they drive over for their first try, which they converted. Score 0 - 7.  This does not bode well
009 - Storm Pearton (1) restarts the match
010 - Park's throw in but Matt Catchpole (playing 5 but wearing 17) is under pressure from the NW forwards
011 - Paul Bradley (8) breaks down the left with Ben Lawrence (11) in support
012 - Park dominate the scrum throughout the match.  Paul picks up to feed Tom Cameron (9 but wearing 15)
013 -Storm plooks for a gap in the NW back line
014 - But is tackled by a NW centre
015 -Anthony Catchpole (4) immitates the action of a tiger as he launches at the NW defence
018 - Tom directs play as Storm and Stephen look to secire the ball
022 - Darren Cooper (6) claims a NW flanker as he breaks from a retreating scrum
023 -A NW centre runs into the brick wall that is Paul and Darren
024 -NW launch an attack on the Park line,  Ross Inwood (15) looks to make a crucial tackle.
025 - Paul and Tom look to regain possession
026 - HAving secures the ball  Paul breaks from defence with support from Barney Savill (13)
027 - In a blur the NW No.8 breaks through Park's defence and heads for the line.
028 -To touch down for a second NW converted try. Score 0 - 14 after 16 minutes
030 - Ben breaks down the left bit is outnumbered as Ben Brewer (7) and Darren rush to his aid.
033 - Once again NW attack the centre of the Park defence.
034 - They get the ball to the open side flanker
035 - who crashes over for NW's third try, once again converted.  Score 0 - 21 after 28 mins.
036 - Darren is not amused and looks to snuff out another attack from NW.
037 - with a powerful tackle
038 - but fails to gain possession.
039 - Storm stops the No. 8 in his tracks.
040 - and drops him to the floor
041 - Paul collects the ball and looks to counter attack
042 - Park pressurise the NW line  and Darren looks to swoop as soon as the ball leaves the maul.
043 - Jeff Woods (2) and Max Irwin (1) support ben B as he rises to take clean line out ball from Tyler Lawrence's (3) throw in.
044 - Tom spins the ball out to the backs
047 -
048 - NW break from a ruck.  This looks dangerous. Jeff looks to take off in pursuit.
049 - Very dangerous
050 - But Paul makes a vital tackle to stop a try.
051 -George Robertson (14) chases a chip through with a NW winger.
052 - But arrives second
053 - The Park pack arrive to pressurise the NW line.
054 -Matt looks to charge down a clearance kick
055 - Barney looks for a scissors move with Tom 10 metres out
056 - but the defence are wise to it
059 - Barney ponders what to do.
060 - He tries to scramble under the defence
061 - Darren makes a nuisance of himself just short of the NW posts.
062 - He steals the ball and heads for the try line.
063 - But the tacle goes in as MAx shouts for the ball with Tyler and Ant ready to support
064 - Darren goes down
065 - The ball is moved right to Paul
066 - Who evades one tackle
067 - But is brought down.  The ref blows up for an injury to Darrens's ankle.  It is serious
068 - After a long delay Darren is stretchered off with a broken and dislocated right ankle.  Best wishes for a speedy, pain free and full recovery mate.
069 - Park have an attacking line out but it is messy ball.  Dwayne Lynn(16) replaces Darren.
070 - Park pressurise the enuing ruck and Matt attempts to charge down the clearnce kick
071 -Another clearance kick by NW.  This time Dwayne is being obstructive.
073 - Park dominate another attacking scrum
074 - Dwayne get up close and personal with the scrum half
075 - The rest of the boys arrive and the penalty is won
076 - Another messy line out seees the ball run loose
077 - NW clean up but Ben B is on the case.
078 - and drags the defender to the floor on the 5 metre line.
079 - Another clearance kick by NW as Tyler pressurises.
081 - But NW break out and score a fourth try, which is converted, against the recent run of play.  Score 0 - 28 after 33 mins (ex stoppage time)
082 - Matt looks to strectch the NW defence as PArk resume their attacks on the NW line.
083 - He looks to pass left with lots of support on the right.
084 - But finds a flying Barford
085 - Who looks to spread it wide.
087 - And finds a flying Ben L
088 - Who looks to beat his opposite number on the outside.
089 - Looks to have avoided the tackle
090 - Only to be claimed by the ankles.
091 -  Paul makes another attack on the left and is only a couple of metres out
092 - He drives for the line
093 -Dives
094 - And touches down for Park's first try  after 36 minutes of play.  Not converted so the score is 5 - 28
096 - Half time.  A man with a worried look
097 - Have the terrible trio been up to some kind of japery - it looks that way.
099 - Storm get the second half under way.
101 - Ross tackles his opposite number
102 - Dwayne makes another great with the help from Storm
103 - Park continue to dominate the scrums with the result that
104 - the NW hooker gets a 10 minute rest
106 - Storm looks to release the back line. PArk need to capital
107 - Ross collects and moves the ball on to
108 - a flying George Robertson (14)
109 - George reaches half way.
110 - but is apprehened on the NW 22m
111 - The pack arrive and get to work on their depeleted opponents
112 - Paul breaks loose.  "Turn left" requests captain Stephen
113 - "OK skipper".
114 - Ben B thunders into some heavy weather
115 - That tackle looks dangerous
116 - surely that is a penalty
117 - Tom to Ant.
118 - It will take more than one back to stop this Park juggernaut.
119 - Ant is on the move again but Dad seems a bit disinterested
120 - The ball is set back and Ross plays scrum half
121 - Paul has the ball again.  Remember head for those white posts
122 - The juggernaut rolls again
123 - Paul continues the pressure with his captain's words ringing in his ears
124 - "It's my ball and you are not having it "
125 - Pass inside, go outside or flatten the scrum half
126 - the rest of the NW cover arrives
127 - Followed by Park
129 - PArk's flying ace gets his chance, but no sucess this time
136 - Storm looks for a gap in the defence
137 - releases the ball to Ross
138 - who makes ground to the 5m line
139 -  and releases to Harry Dearman (16)
140 - Harry sets up a ruck 3 metres out
141 - Matt picks up and drives for the line . Only a metre or so to go.
142 - Keeping low and pumping his legs for all he is worth
143 - A half metre to go - this looks good
144 - Inches left and Matt is on his way down
145 - The NW No.8 tries to get his hand on the ball but the ball is downfor a Try
146 - Brother Ant is jubilant.  Ross is not so sure.
147 -Try given but not converted.  Score 10 - 28 after
151 - Desperate tackling from Ben B, Barney and George?
152 - Woody returns at prop and sets up a ruck with Ant, Wayne and Harry
153 - Teddy Duke (18) plays inside centre as Stephen moves to No. 8 to replace the injured Paul.  Not the knee again .  When will he return?
158 - Steve, now No. 8, breaks from Park's scrum as Woody (green arms) takes a well earned rest
159 - Testing times for the fly half
160 - Nice side step.  Where is my support?
161 -
162 - Ross challenges for a high
163 - and comes out the winner
164 - and feeds Barney
165 - Someone has been on the "happy juice"
167 - Ross and Barney team up to pressurise the NW line
171 - Great jump by Matt with Jeff and Tyler's assistance
172 - BArney's almoarney keeps trying but
174 -George looks determined,
176 - and looks to do it the captain's way.
177 - Sucess, but this will not work on a prop, even if he does have a dodgy knee.
178 - George is brought to an abrupt stop.
182 - End of the match.  Final score 10-31 as NW score a penalty near the end. A match played in good spirit.  Great shame about Darren's injury, his season for Park is now surely over. Best wishes for the recovery.
