R&GP 1st XV v Ruislip - 27th Sept. '14

005 - Ruislip kick off
006 - Ruislip take the first line out ball
007 - Bamidele Coker (5) gets the Park attack started
008 - Peter O'Brien (4) takes a serious bang to the head and is out of the game in the first few minutes
009 - Captain Charlie Wilkinson (6) rises high to take clean lineout ball
010 - Ben Lawrence (11) sees a gap and goes for it
011 - and goes like an antelope on the wide open spaces of the veldt
012 - and goes
013 - and goes
014 - TRY No. 1 to Park. Score 5 - 0
015 - Ben takes the conversion
016 - Which he slots through the posts according to the touch judges. Score 7 - 0
017 - Charlie breaks from the back of the scrum
018 - he chips ahead.  Now it is a race for him and George Roberston (14)
019 - Ruislip's full back gathers the ball as Charlie moves in
020 - Charlie fails to make the tackle
021 - but fails to hold on
022 - George gets to grips with the problem
023 - Ben is loose again.  Can he repeat his previous good work?
024 - He heads towards the line
025 - leaps nimbly through the Ruislip winger's tackle
026 - He heads for the line
027 - Only a few metres to go
028 - The line is crossed
029 - TRY No. 2.  Ben and Park's second of the match Score 12 - 0
030 - Ben hits the conversion from out wide without sucess
031 - Subsitute John Pearce (16) takes good lineout ball
032 - Dwayne Lynn (7), Tyler Lawrence (3), Bami and Jack try to set up a driving maul
033 - The maul spins and Charlie gets ready to break away as Darren Cooper (8) gets ready to support
034 - Tyler intercepts a ball just inside the half way line.  Thats a long way Tyler
035 - He makes good ground and looks for support to his left. The ruislip players appear to have given up what looks like a certain try
036 - Tyler charges on with a worried look - he may have to go all the way.
037 - Tyler looks to his right for support where his captain is closing in.
038 - This is getting serious as Tyler charges on like a demented wildebeest
038x - Tyler doesn't know if he can make it to the line before exhaustion sets in
039 - No good.  It is just to far he has to pass.
041 - Charlie is the lucky recipient - just don't drop it
043 - Charlie receives gratefully and swoops for the line like a graceful impala
044 - Checks all is OK.  Do you want it back Tyler?
045 - Tough luck, its mine
046 - It is going down
047 - TRY number 3 for Park. Score 17 - 0
048 - Ben strokes the conversion
049 - Through the posts. Score 19 - 0
050 - Dwayne charges through the middle.
051 - Sidesteps to his right
052 -
053 - The full back lunges like a leopard
054 - but Dwayne looks as if he is free as Anthony Catchpole (1) supports
055 - Unfortunately the full back's long arms just halt Dwayne's progress
056 - Ruislip strike back with a quick try by their No. 10 Stu Pearham
057 - The conversion is on its way
058 - and flies through the posts. Score 19 - 7 (or 12). Mr Richards deep in thought behind the posts
059 - Bami takes clean lineout ball.  You would never know he was recently a winger
060 - Dwayne grasps at the Ruislip 8
061 - Charlie steps in with a welcoming embrace
062 - Ben takes a long range penalty that slides wide of the posts
063 - Full back Nicholas Reid (15) sets off on an attack
064 - he takes on the Ruislip forwards
065 - and leaves them for dead
066 - but the out half and centre bring his run to an end
067 - a clever chip through causes the Ruislip full back and winger an anxious moment as it wobbles towards the try line and Ben looms
068 - whoops it pops up after being touched by a Ruislip hand.  Tricky things these rugby balls.
069 - It is now loose in the in goal area.
070 - Ben and Storm Pearton (12) force a touchdown by Ruislip
071 - The resulting 5 metre scrum
072 - allows Darren to pop the ball up
073 - to scrum half Tom Cameron (9) who moves it wide
074 - A ruck ensues and Tom feeds the ball left
075 - to Bami
076 - Who drives for the line with Glen Kennedy (2) in support
077 - Bami steps out of the tackle and eyes the line
078 - crosses it
079 - gets ready to touch down
080 - TRY No. 4 - nicely placed sir.  Score 24 - 7 (or possibly 12)
081 - Ben takes the kick
082 - and it sails through the posts, score 26 - 7(or possibly 12).  Enthusiastically flagged by 101 year old touch judge Sir Keith Bromage.  A little bleary due to celebrating before the match
084 - Charlie On the charge
085 - Ben takes a penalty a long way out, but with no luck
086 - Charlie picks up a nuicance hooker
087 - Bami looks for the gaop with Darren in support
088 - But is swamped by Ruislip players
089 - Ant looks to take on a Ruislip prop
090 - BOSH
091 - Charlie probes the defence again
092 - Now Daren looks for a way through
094 - A delicate through kick gives Charlie a chase
095 - he zooms in on the ball as it rolls towards the dead ball line
096 - The ball hovers
097 - TRY - 5 more points to Wilko's tally.  Score 31 -7 (or 12)
098 - Conversion by Ben - No it skids past the posts
099 - Now a penalty to Ruislip but no luck
100 - Storm looks for a weakness supported by Dwayne and Bradley Norman (10)
101 - There is a smidgeon of a gap as Dwayne and fellow centre Paul Webb (13) look on
102 - But no.  He is dragged down like lions on a wilderbeest.
103 - One of Parks venerable gentlemen, Kevin James, looks on with interest as the half comes to an end
104 - Tom gets the second half underway
105 - Stephen Barfoot (22)  comes off the bench for the second week running as No. 8.  I can hear the creaking bones from here.
106 - A "shocked" storm finds space
107 - he jigs right
108 -
109 - Only to find a defender closing
110 - Tom moves the ball along the line
111 - Charlie gets attention from the second row
112 - Webby rejoins after a period in the sin buin for tripping an opponent,
113 - Steve (playing 8) and Dwayne look to defend from a Ruislip back row move.
114 - The No. 8 gets the full treatment from the hyenas
115 - as the rest of the pack closes in.
116 - Yellow card - not coming through the middle of the ruck - surely not ref.
117 - Stephen takes the walk of shame.  It is now the Park 14
118 - Charlie gets to grips with an attacker
119 - a pile up ensues, follwed by another yellow card
120 - Charlie follows Steve's example. Now the Park 13
121 - Nick and Ben are on the loose with only thoughts of the Ruislip line
122 - This is really determined running from Nick
123 - With the line in range he will not be letting go
124 - A smile creeps across Nick's face as he gets ready
125 - Ready
126 - TRY Number 6 of the day.  Score 36 - 7 (or 12 or 19)
127 - Did you enjoy that. YES, and all with 13 men!
128 - Ben hits the conversion
129 - Which sails through the posts. Score 38 - 7 (12 or 19). Out anicient touch judge seems more able to focus now.
130 - Ruislip attack down their left flank whilst Glen Kennedy (2) enjoys a little tackling practice on the right.
131 - Surely not another yellow card ref (No. 4)
132 - Glen takes the walk of shame.
133 - Try to Ruislip after a sustained drive at a scrum.Score 38 - 12 (or 17 or 24).  Conversion missed
134 - Stephen is back on to bolster the defence as Ruislip continue to pressurise
135 - Not another yellow card. This time for the Ruislip No. 5, for throwing a punch.  Is that all he gets?
136 - But a yellow too ( No. 5) for Tyler for tugging the second row's shirt.
137 - Charlie is now back as well, as Ruislip continue to pressurise the Park line.
138 - Storm looks to release Webby
139 - but in the end reverse passes to George down the right wing.
140 - Now nick flies down the left wing
141 - as ever Ben is in support
142 - Nick sences the line - is that shirt pulling? Tyler got a yellow card for that.
143 - A desperate tackle from the Ruislip defender.  They must have credit for trying to the very end even thouugh the match was almost out of site
144 - Nick is a yard out
145 - TRY No. 7 as Nick flops over. Score 43 - 24
146 - Ben takes the conversion but this time misses
147 - Storm looks to push the score towards 50
148 - Wiith Webby in support
149 - Unfortunately the cover was too much
150 - Bradley looks to release Max Irwin (17) into the wild
151 - The crowd waits in anticipation as Max looks to make an impact
152 - Charlie continues to fly high in the lineout
153 - Now Jack, like a giraffe, towers over the opposition
154 - Nick sends the ball wide to George
155 - The pass was a little high and gives the cover a little more time.
156 - George takes on his opposite number
157 - and almost gets free off both wingers
158 - A chip forward sees Bradley looking for try No. 8
159 - He's favourite, but the whistle calls them back for an infringement.  End of match.  A great win for Park and some new faces.  Great credit to Ruislip for competing to the very end.
