Thurrock v R&GP 1st XV 20th Dec. '14

000a - The teams
001 - A welcome from Thurrock
Apologies about the quality of the photos this week.  An overcast sky, 3 pm kick-off and the shortest day mean the camera is working overtime.
002 - Thurrock's nifty fly half, Mumba, tries a chip over the defence as Teddie Duke (10 but wearing 12), Ant Catchpole (4) and captain Stephen Barfoot (12 but wearing 21) close in
003 - Storm Pearton (15) collects
004 - and sets up a ruck as he is tackled by Thurrock's blue helmeted player
005 - Park have removed the helmet and Ben Brewer (7) breaks around the side of the ruck
006 - Teddie looks to get the back line going as Paul Webb (13) comes into the attack
008 - Penalty to Park.  Storm sends it on its way but it slides wide of the posts.
009 - Thurrock attack down Park's left
010 - Matt Catchpole (5 but wearing 4) and Stephen look to close the centre down
011 - Thurrock's fly half is on the move again
012 - He fly's down the left
013 - Draws the tackle form Storm and releass the winger
014 - Who streaks for the line with Ben B in attedance.
015 - Fortunately no try
016 -Storm clears high and wide to touch but it is an impressive attempt to block by the Thurrock No. 8
017 - Nifty sets off another move as George Robertson (14 but wearing 11) Teddie and Ben B look on
018 - Charlie wilkins on (8) halts the centre with a low tackle
019 - Following a great tackle by Peter O'Brien (7) Barnabus Savill (9) looks to take the ball
020 - He collects with Charlie, vintage prop Jeff Woods (1) and Tyler Lawrence (3) looking to support
021 - Barney releases to Matt
022 - Wh flips the ball to Glen to Kennedy (2)
023 - who surprises Matt by cutting back inside
024 - Barney breaks from a scrum with George Robertso(11 but wearing 14) waiting for a pass
026 - Barney feeds George
027 - George Looks to feed Paul
029 - Nifty is causing problems agai
030 - Great tackle from Storm to halt the centre
031 - All hands to the pumps to prevent a try.  Fortunately the penalty goes Park's way.
032 - Stephen on a bit of a charge hands off the Thurrock 12
033 - Teddie and Paul get up close and personal with Thurrock
034 -Park's man of the match, Barney, breaks  with Paul in hot pursuit
035 - Paul takes up the attack with Ben B for support
036 -Park's powerful front row gets ready to do battle.
037 - Nifty is at it again as Ben Lawrence (11 but wearing 14) looks to cut off the attack
038 - Great interception by Ben L.  The line is in sight.  A try surely, no one will catch the flier
039 - and then the whistle goes for an earlier infringement - Sooo disappointing
040 - Thurrock No. 12 cuts towards the Park posts
041 - Is only partly held
042 - Try to Thurrock under the posts and the conversion follws.  Score 7 - 0
047 - Pete soars in the line out.  Have a great day on 24th Pete.
048 - Matthew Catchpole (5 but wearing 4) moves the ball along the line
050 - Barfoot on another charge with serious intent in his eyes.
056 - He outpaces a rotund prop.
059 - Surges across the 5v metre line - this
064 - Slides across the Thurrock line
065 - and touches down for Park's one and only try of the day
066 - Then he does a Juantorena.  One for the older sports fans and afficianados of Coleman Balls.
070 - Storm sends the cobnversion on its way but s
074 - Thurrock's hooker gets a 10 minute rest.  Now is the time to capitalise boys.
075- Storm makes a good touch kick
079 - Ben L gets up speed but the path looks blocked.
080 - He tries to set up a maul with Barney but the Thurrock Flanker Gets to grips with the ball.
081 - Flying tackle by Pete.
083 - But the ball stil gets to nifty.
085 - A Thurrock penalty is
087 - Jeff, George, Tyler, Charlie, Barney and Glenn look to halt Thurrocks chunky second row.
089 - In a flash the full back is in the line, the winger receives the pass
091 - flies towards Park's line
092 - and touches down for a converted try.  Score 14 - 5.  That's the bonus point gone.
095 - Barney looks as if he could be outnumbe
096 - He goes to ground with support arriving
097 - In the substantial form of Woody
098 - The ruck is set whilst the Lawrence brothers engage in their own little affair.
099 - Start of the second half and Woody leaves the field.  That's right Steve you are now the oldest man in the Park team.
100 - Substitutes Mark Jackson (18 but wearing 17) and Darren Cooper (17 but my guess at his number is as good as yours) join the fray to get Park back into the game
102 - Storm looks to break out but is ensnared
103 - Now Ben L looks for a gap.  What happened to the cap Matt?
104 - Penalty to Park in front of the posts . Storm slots the 3 points.  Score 14 - 8, and the bounus point is back.
106 - Park step up their game and move the ball around
111 - This leaves gaps for Thurrock nad they sneak an unconverted try.  Score 19 - 8.
113 - Park have a number of attacking tries on the Thurrock line.  Here Barney looks to get the backs involved.
115 - Barfoot attempts to repeat his previous sucess.
116 - Great driving maul.
117 - Storm and Steve within yards of the line look to prise the door open
120 - Another attacking ruck as the lights of the M25 shine brightly in the background.
121 - Pete goes for the line but is inches short.
122 - In the open play Thurrock break away to score a converted try.  Score 26 - 8
124 -  As the score shines out brightly Park persevere in the search of points to the end.  But it all comes to nought.  Final score 26 - 8
