Romford 44 - 12 Upminster
Romford hosted neighbours Upminster for their next league game - up against a large physical pack and playing into the wind in the 1st half was always going to be a struggle - from the kick off Upminster failed to claim the ball cleanly and from the resulting scrum Romford went blind and good work from No8 Petrie set up scrum half Dan Fox to dive over after only 90 seconds. Upminster used their big forwards to work their way upfield and were soon level - Romford were soon back on the attack after their mobile forwards moved the ball well for centre Charlie Rawlings to go over in the corner - Romfords 3rd of the morning came from a loose Upminster clearance that was taken by full back Medaglia who made good ground before the ball found the flying winger Peter Adeoye to scorch down the wing and touch down. Romford then seemed to fall asleep towards the end of the half and enabled Upminster to score their 2nd try of the morning and the half to end 15-12 in Romfords favour
The 2nd half saw Romford playing with the wind behind them and decided to run the larger Upminster pack around as much as possible - this paid dividends straight away as Romford moved the ball around the park at ease and up popped Petrie to run in near the posts ( converted ) - this spurred Romford on further as they then tore Upminster apart with some superb handling that the oppo couldn't match as further tries from Madden and Fahy in the forwards were just rewards for the packs effort and this was topped off by Adeoye claiming another 2 down the wing for his 1st hattrick in Romford colours
All in all a very impressive team effort as every boy played their part in a superb win
