try feast at home

Romford 65 - 19 Maldon
Romford hosted Maldon on a bright crispy morning with a side depleted in numbers but not quality - From the start Romford controlled the ball and their pace and within the first 6 minutes opened the scoring when centre Jack Worthington crashed over, the 2nd soon followed as Maldon failed to secure the ball properly in their backs and the loose ball was pounced on by Alex Walters and run in un opposed in the corner to touch down.the 3rd try of the morning was a great try with the ball going through lots of hands before being fed to Timi Osansumi for the winger to glide pass and score under the posts. the 4th try again came from a Maldon error with their scrum on the 5 mtr line as they lost possesion and flanker Connor Madden pick up the ball and dived over. - the last try of the half again came through the backs as the forwards worked their way upfield using the rucking and mauling to good effect before setting the backs free with the ball as they interlinked well and for Worthington to stroll in for his second and Romfords 5th ( 3 conv Tom Medaglia ) to lead 31-0 at half time
The second half saw Romford playing uphill and into the wind but they carried on trying to run the ball at every opportunity sometimes pushing the last pass a bit too much and the game sometimes being a scrappy affair - Osansumi soon scored his second of the morning with another barnstorming run through people to score under the posts, this was soon added upon as full back Seyi Ajeigbe scored a quick fire brace as both tries where scored from loose ball in open play and Ajeigbe just jinked past anyone that got anywhere close to him to jog in and score, Maldon then scored a couple of well deserved tries as Romford fell asleep and let their intensity down - this seemed to wake the hosts up a bit and from the restart the ball was knocked back from a shuddering tackle by Billy Davison and Cameron Petrie swooped on the ball to run in from 25 mtrs out to score under the posts - with Maldon having to make tackle after tackle it wasnt long before try No 10 came as centre Owen Dew crashed over in the corner with defenders hanging off him and with the last play of the day sa Petrie claim his second again diving in at the corner to wrap up a comprehensive if sometimes scrappy win ( 2 conv Tom Medaglia
