U15's Open their League Campaign with a Win

Romford 36 - 5 Sudbury

Romford hosted newly promoted Sudbury at the Fortress for their 1st league game of the season - having never played each other before neither side new what the other had to offer. It was Romford 1st on the attack after several phases down the wing the ball was then sent the other way and Fullback Valentini & Winger Ajeigbe more the ball between them for Valentini to storm through and score in the corner, for the next few minutes Romford squandered several more chances to increase their lead before eventually Valentini once again hit the line at pace to glide through the opposition for his & Romfords second halfway through the 1st half ( conv Horsman ) , Sudbury then came back at Romford using their big pack to drive upfield with some good mauling & rucking and deservedly got on the score sheet when they scored in the corner, the rest of the half was a very scrappy affair with neither side creating any chances and lots of errors .
After a swift talking too at half time Romford decided to revert back to their usual style of play and it wasn't long before Valentini claimed a well deserved hat trick after the forwards rumbled up field and secured quick ball for the backs to work their magic and score again , this seemed to move Romford into another gear and it wasn't long before they scored again, this time from deep inside their own half Prop Joseph Piercy took the ball at pace and handed off anyone they got in his way before being brought down on Sudburys 22mtr line and saw scrum half Dan Fox in support and off loaded to him for an easy run in for Romfords 4th try of the morning.
Romford continued to keep the pressure on Sudbury by running the ball at every opportunity and again after good forward work Attridge fed Ajeigbe on the winger to dance down the line then cut back in to score under the posts ( conv Horsman ) , the final try of the morning was made via the forwards after several phases on the Sudbury goal line drawing in the defence it was moved out to the backs where centre Henry Attridge scored in the corner for Romfords 6th and Final try
All in all after a lack-lustre first half the boys woke up and played some great attacking Rugby in the 2nd Half

It was also great to see Tom Robinson back on the field after his injury last year
