U15's - Romford Gain Revenge

Romford 19 - 7 Thurrock

Romford travelled to a freezing cold Thurrock for their 2nd League game of the season, having sized up the home side it was obvious that they would play a forward orientated game using the massive pack - from the start Romford had the upper hand all around the park running the home side around whenever they had the opportunity - only some last gasp defending on several occasion stopped the Romford backs running riot, somehow the 1st half ended 0-0 - The 2nd half saw Romford playing down the slope with the stiff breeze at their backs but it was Thurrock who opened the scoring after an error in the Romford back line saw Thurrock pounce on the loose ball to score ( converted ) - This was the wake up call that Romford needed, from the resulting restart winger Lamar Douglas caught the ball and set off beating 3 defenders before some lovely interaction between Attridge and Valenetini saw the full back glide past several would be tacklers to open Romfords account ( conv Horsman ) - Romford then moved up several gears and with the Romford packs running the larger Thurrcok pack all around the park saw the ball move lovely through the backs for Douglas to score in the corner and take the lead - with Romford now in control and Thurrock unable to get out of their own half it wasn't long before the final nail was put in their coffin, again some great play between backs and forwards saw No 8 Billy Davison bulldoze his was over with 3 defenders hanging off him to score ( conv Horsman ) and wrap up a very good win against a very physical side
