U15's Romford v Rochford

Romford 50 v 5 Rochford
Romford hosted Rochford on an overcast Sunday morning, with both teams only having 15 squad members available, due to Essex duties and illness.

The first 10 minutes of the game started off very messy with both teams knocking on and handing over advantage back and forth.
Romford then started to find their groove and soon put ball through hands to start Joseph Piercy on his one man show, to power though several defenders and run his first try into the corner. (Conv Horsman).
It was very much of the same as Joseph scored his 2nd of the game to glide through and score under the posts.
Rochford had a few passages of play and saw their No 13 twice go one on one with our full back Tyler Ford, but on both occasions Tyler made two try saving crunching tackles leaving the scores unchanged.
Buoyed by his defensive duties, Tyler then went into attacking mode after receiving the ball on the wing, slipped and glided through Rochford’s defence and scored Romford’s 3rd try of the morning. (Conv Horsman)
Half Time 19-0.
Second half started off as the first half left off with Romford now in total charge of the game in every department, and it didn’t take long before Tom Medaglia found himself nipping in over the white line to score Romford’s 4th of game.
Straight from the kick off Romford took charge of the ball and saw the forwards make some great ground down field, which then set up Joseph on the wing to score Romford’s 5th try of game and Josephs Hat-trick.
To Rochfords credit they kept battling on and didn’t let their heads drop, and then from a quick penalty tap they unleashed their No 13 who rode a couple of tackles and scored a well-deserved try into the corner.
Once again Romford found themselves in a good attacking position, with the forwards keeping it “In house” eating up the field with good pod plays, off loads and great phases and eventually seeing Luke Broomfield pick up off the back and power over for Romford’s 6th try of the game. (Conv Horsman).
Romford’s 7th try came from a misplaced pass from Rochford No 9 deep in their half which saw Piercy scoop up the ball and unopposed and score his 4th of the game. (Conv Horsman).
The day ended with a superb passage of play which saw the forwards take up the ball, quick hands from the resulting rack to Rian Horsman who then “Dings” a lovely weighted kick over the top and to the wing for Joseph Piercy to gather in and then hand off two rushing Rochford players and score his 5th of the game and Romford’s 8th.
