Boys turn on the style and remain top of the tree

Eton Manor 7 v 38 Romford & GIdea Park

Romford travelled to Eton Manor ( via Loughton Rugby club ) for their 1st game after Christmas and for their 4th League game of the season - on a firm pitch ( somehow with all the recent rain ) Romford were in good mood that their running game would be used to good effect - from the off Romford took the game to the hosts but most of the play was centred just inside the Manor half for the opening 15 minutes without either team giving any ground - it was Romford that drew 1st blood after the forwards drove the Manor pack back and a loose pass into the backs saw Romford Centre Henry Attridge touch down beside the posts to open the scoring ( Con Horsman ) Manor came at Romford and were camped under the Romford posts for 5 minutes after Romford gave away numerous penalties and it took its toll as Manor crashed over with their forwards with the last play of the half (conv )
The 2nd half started and it was obvious that Romfords aggression was turned up a few notches as straight from the restart Romford decided to run the ball from inside their own half and with the ball being fed down the line to winger Lamar Douglas their own seemed one outcome - try time ( conv missed ), this galvanised Romfords belief and from then on it just seemed one way traffic - with Manor spilling the ball inside their opponents half up pop the lightening Seyi Ajeigbe on the wing to pick up the loose ball inside his own half and outpace anyone that got close to score unopposed under the posts ( conv Horsman ) and lead 19-7 within 10 minutes of the restart - with Romford now seemingly in control and putting all the pressure on Manor try No4 wasnt long in coming after great work by the forwards saw the backs move the ball and for Attridge to claim his 2nd try of the day after crashing through his opposite number .( conv Horman ) - with Manors heads going down Romford could smell blood and wanted more points, again from inside the Romford half the ball was stolen by the forwards and fed to fly half Rian Horsman for him to dart and dance through and around anyone near him and run a full 60 metres to score under the posts ( conv Horsman ) and take an unassailable lead 33-7 with just a few minutes left - the boys never let up and were fully rewarded with their efforts after putting pressure on Manor under their own posts and with the ball being moved lovely through forwards and backs saw Jospeh Piercy pop up in the back line to crash over for try No6 and wrap up another great Team Performance
