5 League wins out of 5

Romford 89 v 0 Saffron Walden

Romford hosted Saffron Walden at the Fortress for the 5th league game of the season, having already played SW in the cup earlier in the season both teams new what to expect of each other - unfortunately SW only had 14 available but played their hearts out throughout the game - for the opening 10 minutes it was quite an even contest but as soon as Romford opened the scoring with winger Tyler Ford scoring in the corner it was then only ever one way traffic - The Romford pack continued their fine form from last week and kept the ball alive and going forward whenever possible, Full Back Luca Valentini scored No2 crashing through the middle and No3 followed soon after when Romford won a scrum against the head and scrum half Tom Medaglia darted over from close range - No4 was scored when winger Joseph Piercy handed off and brushed past anybody that got near time to score, No5 saw centre Owen Dew finish off a good move between forwards & backs with the ball moving well in hands - Romford added another couple in the dying minutes of the 1st half, No 6 was scored immediately from the restart after Dan Fox caught the restart and moved the ball well into the hands of Henry Attridge to score under the posts, again from the restart Romford moved the ball from one side to the other before being finished off with Ford going over under the posts to round off a comprehensive half 39-0
The second half saw Romford make numerous changes enabling the whole squad to get a run out but the intensity never let up and the boys carried on scoring at will - Ford claimed his hat-trick soon after the restart after the ball was moved well down the back line - Seyi Ajeigbe claimed a quick fire brace outpacing the entire SW backline to claim Romfords 9th & 10th try of the morning - it was then that the forwards decided to get in on the act with many off loads coming at pace the back row pair of , Petrie & Davison x 2 added their names to the already impressive list of scorers to move the score nearer that magical number.....Attridge claimed his second of the morning going over under the posts & the last score of the day came again direct from the restart where flanker Connor Madden caught the ball on hos own 22mtr line and set off upfield leaving everybody in his wake and outpace a tiring defence to score under the posts and complete the scoring
A big mention has to go to Saffron Walden who never let their heads drop and played with great spirit & determination to the final whistle.
