Romford 52 v 12 Colchester A

Romford played hosts to a big Colchester Side on the last game of the season, having played the visitors the previous week at their own festival and came out second best Romford knew they would have to be on top of their game to have a chance of victory.
Straight from the off Romford threw everything at Colchester and hit them with everything including the kitchen sink, it wasnt long before the home side were on the score sheet after some great forward work secured the ball for the backs to work well before linking with prop Charlie Rawlings to crash over out wide. the next couple of tries were scored by the lightning winger Lamar Douglas as he dummied and glided past his opposite number to score a quick fire brace. - with the Romford pack dominant all over the park securing clean quick ball for the backs try No4 wasnt long in coming as a scrum in the middle of the park was won against the head and the ball fed through the backs before fullback Luca Valentini latched onto a long pass and ran half the length of the pitch to scamper . ( conv Ajeigbe )from the restart Petrie caught the ball and made inroads into the Colchester half fending off anyone near him beofre sending out a great pass to winger Seyi Ajeigbe who galloped in and scored in the corne , just as time was running out Romford had one last surge upfield and again prop Rawlings was on hand to take the ball at pace from outside the 22mtr line and brush aside anyone that stood in his way to score the 6th try of the half
( HT 32-7 )
The second half started with Romford in the ascendancy again with the smaller more mobile pack running Colchester ragged and it wasnt long before Romford were on the score sheet again, agin after great forward work securing the ball just inside the Colchester half the back line lead by Davison moved the ball down the line for Centre Tyler Ford to dart past the would be tacklers ti dive over in the corner, - credit to Colchester as they never gave up and got their rewards as their powerful pack drove Romford back over their line to score their second of the morning - this only seemed to fire the home side up again as Romford pressurised the Colchester backs into a loose pass and for No 8 Petrie to intercept a pass on half way and outpace the covering defence to score under the posts.
The lasy couple of tries of the morning and of the season were scored by the rapid Seyi Ajeigbe on the wing when he jinked, dummied and then just ran past , around and through anyone near him to score tries 9 & 10 of the game and wrapped up an incredible morning of flowing Rugby.
