Romford 17 v 12 Maldon

Romford Hosted Maldon for their 2nd game of the morning so that the entire squad could each get a full game of Rugby
Maldon known for the good forward play kept the ball for the opening 10 minutes and Romford found it hard to get a foothold in the game - as soon as the home side got their hands on the ball they spread it wide for winger Rotimi Osunsami to power through the away defence to opening the scoring - Maldon hit straight back with their forwards working down field and for their winger to beat a couple of defenders to score and draw level, they then soon took the lead after Romford failed to clear their lines and a loose ball was scooped up and the Maldon centre ran in un -opposed to score under the posts ( conv scored ) and go into half time 12-5 up
The second half was still a ding dong of a battle with both sides putting in some great tackles - Romford drew level after the backs moved the ball out wide for winger Max Mclellan to dive over in the corner- the game flowed from end to end with the final pass often going adrift until with 10 minutes to go the powerful winger Rotimi Osunsami end up with the ball after move good play to power done the touch line fending off 3 defenders to score under the posts ( conv Horsman )
Romford then had a few scary moments defending their lead but managed to hold out until the final whistle and claim their second win of the day
