Romford run Riot in Plate Final

Braintree 5 v 57 Romford

Romford travelled down the A12 to play Braintree in the Essex Cup Plate Final ( 3rd & 4th Place ) - with 23 boys available is was a perfect way to end and give all the boys a run out,
From the off it was Braintree that took the game to Romford as the visitors seemed half asleep for the first 5 minutes - as soon as Romford eventually got their hands on the ball it wasnt long before they scored after Romford won their scrum on the hosts 5 mtr line and No8 Davison picked and went and supported by Cameron Petrie who doved over the line to score, No 2 soon followed when winger Ajeigbe chased his own kick down the line to scoop it up and score - No 3 came after 15 minutes when the pack drove upfield and from a quickly taken penatly Davison smashed through the home defence to score under the posts - with Romford in control and playing some lovely open rugby No 4 soon followed when fly half Attridge took the ball at pace and burst through to score - the next couple of tries where scored by Ford as he darted between players to add a quick fire brace before half time and take into the break a very commanding 40-0 lead
The second half saw Romford ring the changes enabling the whole squad to get a run out but Romford remained on the front foot for the opening 10 minutes without adding to the score - Braintree then had a purple patch when they took the game to Romford and to their credit got their just rewards when their No8 crashed over to open their account - this was the kick up the backside Romford needed as they went straight back on the attack and started to run the ball from all corners of the pitch and Ajeigbe claimed his second dancing down the touchline for his second and Romfords 7th of the morning, not to be outdone by the back the Forwards for all their hard work had the final couple of tries to their names, firstly Gabe Milne latched onto a flowing move to dive over near the posts and the final try of the Final was laid on by Milne and he fed Connor Madden taking the ball at pace to score under the posts and wrap up another very impressive performance
