Match Report v Chelmsford

Romford travelled to Chelmsford for only their second game of the season - we both sides missing players through Essex Training it was an ideal time for all the squad to get some valuable game time

Romford start off playing up hill and with their first attack moved the ball through the back for Max Mclellan scored on the wing, Chelmsford hit back almost straight away after a fumble in the middle of the park enabled them to score under the posts - the game was a very open affair with both teams running the ball whenever they could, Romford regained the lead when Second row Che James outpaced the Chelmsford back line , again from a loose pass Chelmsford levelled up again when their winger touched down under the posts. Romford never gave up trying to run the ball and got their reward just before half time when James found himself in the back line and after being fed by Henry Attridge scored under the posts to regain the lead .

The second half started with Romford ringing the changes to ensure all the boys had valuable match time and straight the the off they tore into Chelmsford, 1st up on the scoresheet was Tyler Ford bursting through from Centre to score under the posts, from then on Romford were in complete control and played some great attacking Rugby with some great support play, next up was Jordan Roberts
after Attridge burst through the Chelmsford back line and set him up to stroll over the line, Owen Dew then added a brace of tries himself with his usual barn storming runs to crash over - the next try of the game was scored by Liam Kelly after the forwards won good ball and set off the backs to move the ball along to score in the corner, with Romford in complete control and playing superb 'team' Rugby the last try was scored by Cameron Petrie after beating several players before off loading to Kelly before taking the return pass and scoring underneath the posts to end off a very emphatic all round team performance

It was great seeing all the hard work in Training paying off with some superb tries being scored with some very good performances from the whole team
