Romford 27 v 15 Maldon

Romford hosted Maldon on a wet,damp miserable day at the 'Park' - with 9 boys missing due to Essex Training it enabled the rest of the squad to have some much valuable game it - with 21 boys still available it was still a great turn out - with the weather conditions being difficult all game it was never a game for the purist - Romford took the game to Maldon straight away and after a good few phases from the forwards working their way up-field it wasnt long before No8 Cameron Petrie crashed over from close to open the scoring
Maldon came straight back at the hosts but after Tyler Ford put in a crunching tackle in midfield and then turned the ball over and set off Alex Walters to fly down the wing and score Romford's second, with Romford now on the front foot it wasnt long before they scored again after Owen Dew crashed through several would be defenders to claim Romford's third -
Maldon then took the attack to Romofrd in the closing stages of the st half and after some good rucking they set off their winger to beat the covering Romford defence and open their a/c

The second half started with Maldons tails up and soon got another score when after several tackles went amissing in midfield they scored under the posts, Romford then seemed to wake up a bit and after the forwards again made inroads into the Maldon half and into the corner up popped Tom Medaglia to dive over in the corner and restore a healthy lead, maldon never lied down and got back again as failure in the Romford defence they couldnt hold onto the ball and up popped the powerful Maldon centre to crash through under the posts to bring the game back to just one score - from the resulting restart Maldon let the ball bounce and Romford regathered it and up popped Jordan Roberts in the centre to glide through several would be tacklers and finally finish the game off resulting in another very hard fought Romford Victory.
