Romford hosted Upper Clapton on a bright sunny morning, with the pitch quite heavy due to the overnight monsoon it was never going to be easy in moving the ball around the Park, for the 1st 20 minutes the ball was contested evenly in the middle of the field between two evenly matched sides before Clapton made inroads into Romford's half and after some good work from their pack moved the ball out wide for their winger to score a deserved try in the corner. this only took to wakening the Romford juggernaut and from the resulting restart took the game to their opponents and from a resulting scrum in midfield saw No8 Billly Davison dummied past 3 defenders to even up the score , this seemed to spur Romford on and straight away just before half time the ball was spread through the backs inside their own half for Alex Walters to glide down the touch line and take the lead - HT 12-5
The second half saw many changes and Romford playing down hill, with lots of fresh legs it was only a matter of time before they got on the score sheet again, 1st up was Seyi Ajeigbe to score in the corner after some neat play by the backs set off the fullback, this was soon followed by 2nd row Connor Madden popping up in the backs to score under the posts caring over a few defenders with him, with Romford now in control it wasnt long before the 5th was added, this time after a powerful surge by the pack a loose ball was picked up from scrum half Dan Fox to pounced on a loose ball under the posts , with the floodgates now well and truly opened Romford moved the ball at ever opportunity and next up on the score score was the powerful winger Richard Abvundge to open his account for the day storming down the wing to score, Romford's 7th was scored on the opposite wing after fly half Rian Horsman cleverly put in a cross field kick for Lightening Lamar Douglas to collect the ball and run in un-opposed to score. Romford now seeming to score ever time they got the ball put pressure on a Clapton scrum and won the ball against the head for Fox to feed Abvundge to come off his blind side wing to crash through the defence to score his second and Romford's 8th - the last 2 tries of the day were both scored by Fullback Ajeigbe coming onto the ball at pace and powering through the Clapton defence to round off another impressive TEAM performance
