Another Emphatic League win.....

Romford 64 - 12 Upminster

Romford hosted near Neighbours Upminster for their last League game at the Fortress - Romford kicked off with the breeze behind them and tore into the opposition straight away - within the first couple of minutes the floodgates started to open with Lamar Douglas going in at the corner, this was soon followed when full back Seyi Adeigbe took the ball from inside his own half and outpace the entire covering defence to score under the posts( Conv Horsman ), from the resulting restart Romford failed to claim the high ball and where pinned back on the own 5 mtr line, the clearance was charged down and the loose ball was pounced on and scored to reduce the score - this seemed to wake Romford up and went straight back down the other end and after good work by the forwards Connor Madden bulldozed through 4 defenders to score ( Conv Horsman ) - From then on the rest of the 1st half seemed one way as Romford tore Upminster apart with some great free flowing running Rugby, next up was the powerful Richard Avbunudge scored under the posts ( conv Horsman ) and then straight after the ball was moved from inside their own half through all the backs to full back Adeigbe to run through the Upminster defence to score under the posts ( conv Horsman ) - the last try of the half was the best of the day as Romford turned over an Upminster attack near their own goal line and drove upfield with some great rucking before setting off the backs to use their pace and power and for Avbunudge to touch down again ( conv Horsman ) and end the 1st half an impressive 38-7 to the good -
The second half saw many changes throughout the half to ensure all the squad got a run out - Romford where soon on the attack again as again the forwards won the ball for the back to run riot and Douglas to claim his second of the day after handing off several would be tacklers to score under the posts - Tries 8 & 9 came down the wing as Avbunudge scored another couple of tries after running over any defender that got in his way ( conv x 2 Horsman ) - to Upminsters credit they never gave up trying and worked their way towards the Romford posts but for Henry Attridge to steal the ball in the maul and charge upfield beating all defenders in his way to score a great well deserved try in the corner - the last try of the day was a well worked one for the visitors as they used their big forwards before off loading to their oncoming backs to dive over and score.
