Cup defeat to impressive Thurrock team
Romford U14's started their season with a tough trip to Thurrock RFC in the Cup
The Sharks made an encouraging start matching their hosts in the first ten minutes
The best move came when captain Louis Ridley broke from his own half and offloaded to second row Dylan Ellis who made a fine run only to be tackled just before the line.
Sadly this was the closest Romford got to the Thurrock try line and the home team took over and dominated the rest of the game
Thurrock ran in three tries in the first half to lead 15-0 and then scored a further four tries with two converted to win the game 39=0
A disappointing start for the Sharks who, after a bright start, were totally outplayed by their opponents
Oscar King and Charlie Wilson both played their first games for Romford
