Romford Under 14’s welcomed Stanford RFC to Crow Lane for their latest fixture
The visitors turned up with only 12 players so several Sharks played for the opposition during the morning
A fired up Romford started quickly and were in front literally before their opponents had touched the ball with the exception of kick off. The ball was passed out to wing Brandan Farrant who raced down the line to score a fine try and successfully converted.
A lapse in concentration and a couple of missed tackles saw Stanford come back into the game with a try of their own after five minutes to make the score 7-5 to Romford
The Sharks were playing well and next on the scoresheet was captain Louis Ridley who avoided a couple of tackles and made a long run to touchdown in the corner
Into the eighteenth minute and Romford full back Harry Wright added to the score with another fine individual try which Farrant converted and Romford led by 19-5
Centre Sam Brindle charged through to score Romfords fourth try of the morning after some more good team play to make the half time score 24-5 to the Sharks
Into the second half and the first score went to the visitors when their left wing ran through unchallenged to score. The try was converted. 24-12 to Romford
Good work from the forwards set up Brindle for his second try of the game which Farrant converted and Romford were 31-12 ahead
Centre Dylan Ellis was next to score making a fine run through the visitors defence to touchdown and Wright scored his second individual try to increase the score even further and with Farrant scoring his fourth conversion, Romford led by 43-12
The last try of the morning went to Sharks number 8 Ronnie Brooks who picked up the ball at the back of a scrum and drove over the line to complete a comprehensive victory by 48-12
