Park Lose To Well Drilled Maldon

Romford welcomed division 1 table toppers Maldon to Crow Lane for the last fixture of 2014. With many players still out it made a tough game much tougher. With the temperature quite mild for December the weather was good for a game of rugby.

The game kicked off and both teams hit the game at a high intensity, but it was the more organised Maldon side who were able to score first around the outside. And continued to exploit the width scoring two more.

However Park continued to battle and were rewarded with a Bailey Finlayson try to reduce the score to 19-5.

With the game still all to play for both teams battled hard but it was the away team with better continuity that were able to touchdown 3 more times before the half time break.

Despite the score line Romford continued to battle throughout the game and Finlayson was allowed to touchdown again. But there was no let up as Maldon continued to add points to the scoreboard and finish with a 64-10 final score.

The score did not reflect the match itself but there is plenty of work ahead in the New Year.

Thank You to Liam Palmer-Anscomb who played his first game for the club - a good debut and hopefully many more good performances to come.
