Park Put in Good Performance as They Come out on Wrong Side of Scoreline.

Romford welcomed Brentwood to Crow Lane for this weekends encounter. The game was going to be no easy game as Brentwood put 84 points on Park in a cross codes game in preseason. But with both teams a few players light the game was set to be a different outcome to the one before.

The game kicked off with Park attacking against the wind but this didn't hinder Park at all when Add Olaleye made the break all but to be stopped 2 yards from the line, all for Park to recycle well and Shaun Kerr to crash over the line. However the strong cross field wind made Sam Slatfords conversion next to impossible.

Brentwood are a good rugby side a moved the ball well but their first try come as a result of a knock on by Park and the resulting scrum. The Brentwood 8 picked up well to crash over in the corner to level the scores at 5-5.

I was the visitors who took the lead when Park defended well from a bombardment from Brentwood and won the scrum against the head. But a loose pass bounced off of Owen Flowers head only for the Brentwood 13 to fall on the ball over the line, to his own surprise. ( probably the most unlucky try we will concede for a while)

Romford however have been a much more determined side in recent weeks and deserved what happened next when Park broke well and finished off by Michael Courtney to level the scores before the half time break.

Romford were thriving from the challenge of playing a good rugby side and were matching up with some good rugby of their own and a good passing move was finished off by Tom O'Meara. Conversions by Sam Slatford.

Park went from strength to strength playing with confidence not seen before attempting kicks and offloads not seen before and controlled the game for a further 5 minutes and were unlucky not to add to the score line but it was Brentwood who scored next very much against the head to bring the game back within 2 points.

This reinvigorated the visitors who to be fair played good rugby all day reflecting their position in division 1, and they continued to push but struggled to get through the solid black line of Sam Slatford, Luke Metcalf, Owen Flower, Bailey Finlayson and Ryan Blinkhorne.

But they couldn't prevent one last Brentwood try from a rolling maul which they converted to win the game 22-17.
