Another confident performance from the Sharks

Romford Under 13’s welcomed Colchester RFC to Crow Lane for their latest fixture

After a tight opening, the Sharks began to play a high pressure game forcing their opponents into a number of errors, but it wasn’t until the eleventh minute that Romford made the breakthrough.

Good forward work saw the ball offloaded to debutant Dylan Ellis and he crossed the line in style for his first try for the Sharks.

A couple of minutes later came the try of the morning when fly half Ross Walters collected the ball inside the Romford half and kicked it downfield where the ball was chased down by wing Sam Brindle who got a nice bounce and collected the ball to run past the defender and score under the posts. Walters converted and the Sharks were 12-0 in the lead.

More good pressure in the Colchester half saw the ball picked up by flanker Robson Burke who raced over to score Romfords third try of the morning. Walters scored his second conversion of the morning and the Sharks led 19-0 at the break

Two tries in the space of four minutes saw Colchester come back into the game at 19-10 before flanker Louis Ridley drove through the away teams defence to touchdown and again increase the lead

Back came the visitors with another try from their big forward but Ridley scored again five minutes later after good work from forwards Aaron Irving-Still and Ronnie Brooks

The last score of the morning went to Colchester but the Sharks finished worthy winners

Another solid performance from the Sharks, they are growing in confidence game by game. Special mention again for the new players Dylan Ellis, Sam Brindle and Luke Williams who all made valuable contributions
