MALDON 53 ROMFORD 7
Romford Under 13's travelled to Maldon RFC for the next round in this years re-structured Essex Cup
The home team came out all guns blazing and a disappointing, out of sorts Sharks simply had no answer
Three tries early in the game, two of which were converted, gave Maldon a 19-0 lead and with tackles being missed and morale quickly dropping it was no surprise that the hosts scored another two tries to lead 29-0 at the interval
Wing Brandan Farrant gave the Sharks a small glimmer of hope with a superb individual try, dodging a number of missed tackles and racing through from his own half to score. Ross Walters converted the try
But Maldon were in no mood to let their lead slip and came back strongly with four more tries, two converted, for a comfortable victory by 53 points to 7
A really off day for The Sharks, they let the opposition through too easily and were made to pay. A good learning curve for them after some great results
