Sharks throw away lead to draw

Romford Under 13’s welcomed Brentwood RFC to Crow Lane for their latest game this season

Both teams made a slow start with the visitors slightly on top in the early exchanges

The Sharks started to get more into the game and when they won a penalty in the ninth minute, number 8 Ronnie Brooks took a quick tap penalty which caught the opposition off-guard and he ran through attempted challenges to score a fine try.

Fly-Half Ross Walters converted to give Romford a 7-0 lead.

The Sharks then had their best spell of the game, testing the opposition defence and in the nineteenth minute, flanker Louis Ridley picked up the ball and bundled his way through the Brentwood defence before off-loading to Brooks, who drove his way over the line to score his second try of the morning and increase Romford’s lead.

Walters again converted and the Sharks led 14-0 at half time

Unfortunately Romford couldn’t build on their lead and Brentwood raised their game to mainly control the second half

The away team touched down twice in an eight minute period, both converted to level the scores and earn a well deserved draw
