Romford U13’s welcomed Brentwood RFC to Crow Lane for their latest game

Despite some recent defeats, the team looked in determined mood and were boosted by playing on the hallowed turf of the 1st team pitch

The game started evenly, both teams having attacks but both also defending well.

The breakthrough for the Sharks came in the sixth minute when a fine move was finished off by full back Harry Wright, who scored under the posts. Wing Brandan Farrant converted

Romford didn’t hold their advantage for long as the visitors scored a good try of their own which was also converted to level the scores at 7-7

Both teams had chances to score but some good tackles were being made and the score remained level at half time

The Sharks came out strongly in the second half and began to dominate their opponents

Romford were now camped in the Brentwood half and some good drives towards the line almost resulted in tries for Louis Ridley, Ronnie Brooks and Harrison Sykes, only excellent defence from the visitors saw the ball held up

Sharks Number 8 Brooks finally increased the lead further with a strong run through the away teams defence to score. Fly half Ross Walters converted and the score was now 19-7 to Romford

It was against the run of play when the big number 8 from Brentwood broke through some tackles to score

This was the final score of the match and Romford ran out winners by 19-12 in an excellent game of rugby
