Sharks humbled by good Woodford team

Romford travelled to Woodford RFC after the cancellation of their home game with Enfield

After a fairly even opening, the hosts gained control and started to produce some impressive rugby

They took the lead in the 6th minute and when try number two went over ten minutes later it opened the floodgates for more

The Woodford backs were particularly good and they ran in a further four more tries, two converted to lead at half time by 34-0 at half time.

The Sharks were good in parts especially at the scrum but they couldn't stop the home team from scoring another two converted tries to increase their lead to 48-0

Rather than heads going down, Romford upped their game and some great team work resulted in wing Brandan Farrant racing through to score the Sharks first try.

Full back Harry Wright then scored a brilliant individual try, with a now characteristic solo run from his own half to touch down under the posts

Another good Romford scrum saw number 8 Ronnie Brooks pick the ball up and run through, captain Louis Ridley then took the ball on and again Brooks picked up then offloaded to Farrant who again sped through the defence to score with the last play of the game

Final Score: Woodford 48 Sharks 15

Encouraging end for the boys but again poor tackling let the team down and plenty to work on
