Disappointment for Sharks in final game of the season

Romford Under 13's welcomed Braintree RFC to Crow Lane for the final game of the 2015/16 season

After a fairly even first few minutes it was the visitors that made the breakthrough with a fine overlap from their backs resulting in a try in the corner.

Try number two followed five minutes later when one of the big Braintree forwards drove over the line to score

The Sharks then had a good spell of pressure which resulted in their first try of the morning. Scrum half Harrison Sykes picked up the ball in his own half and made a fine run into opposition territory, number 8 Ronnie Brooks took the ball on and offloaded to captain Louis Ridley who touched down. The score was now Romford 5 Braintree 10

The away teams backline where dominating the play and poor defending from Romford allowed more overlaps which where punished.

The visitors ran in two more tries before half time to lead 20-5

Braintree continued where they left off in the second half and scored three more tries, one converted in a ten minute spell to completely take the game away from the Sharks. Romford 5 Braintree 37

Romford kept battling and despite the scoreline their pack won some good ball. Ridley picked up the ball in his own half and drove through a number of challenges as he approached the try-line and then offloaded to Ross Walters, who had supported well and was rewarded with a fine try.

Braintree scored the final converted try of the morning before full back Harry Wright raced through to score a trademark try and with Brandan Farrant converting the final score was Romford 17 Braintree 44
