Game 1 vs Dagenham
The first game of the festival started in the most unconventional way with Dagenham only having 10/11 players so played 11 a side with 3 man scrums. With Romford wanting to carry over the success of last week it didn't take Park to break the deadlock with some superb passing rugby saw George Bristow score in the corner. Romford didn't take long to double the their lead with yet again fantastic rugby saw Tank charge over the line for his first of the game. Then Ryan Page saw some space for a great solo try to end the half 15-0 in our favour. The second half began and Dagenham put on a small fight back and full back Michael was unlucky not to score as was Sean Donohoe, but surely enough Thayne Henwood added his second try of the match to finish off a 20-0 win.

Game 2 vs Ongar
Despite the blip 5 weeks ago Romford Started playing there top draw rugby at Ongar in January which ended in a 0-0 draw. As did the game today which was very evenly contested and could of gone either way with Park unlucky not to score at the end of the first half and a try saving tackle from Michael Courtney kept the game a stalemate. None the less the second shut out in two game for the boys. RGP 0-0 Ongar.

Game 3 vs Upper Clapton
Romford were keen to keep up winning ways by beating bottom of the group Upper Clapton and run in 2 quick and powerful try's from Nathan Hunte and Ryan Page and a good solid defensive performance from Romford saw them take into half time a 10-0 lead. The second half kicked off and Park were shocked to have a Clapton side who were still going and wanted something from the game, which was gifted to them when Romford lapsed their concentration of the day to allow the opponents back into the game. Then Tank added the third try for Romford and for him for the day to end the game 15-5 to Romford.

Game 4 - Group decider vs Westcliff

With Westcliff needing only a point to go through Park were always going to have a tough game against one of the sides tipped to win the Essex Cup. Both side were fully committed and Romford were unlucky to conceded 2 try's in a game which deserved to be a draw. RGP 0-10 Westcliff.

Final Group positions

Westcliff 12
Romford and GP 7
Dagenham 6
Ongar 4
Upper Clapton 3

Plate Semi - final vs Eaton Manor
Never an easy game against Manor with twice this season Romford struggling in both fixtures and with also Eaton Manor Romford festival cup winners a special effort would be required to reach the final. Despite a valiant effort from a tired Romford side it was Eaton Manor who come out on top with a 20 points to nil win. Final score Romford and GP 0-20 Eaton Manor.

Plate 3rd/4th place play off vs Brentwood
With Brentwood not prepared to play the game was called a draw giving Romford 3rd place in the plate and top 8 team stature in Essex.

With the players receiving medals for their final position made themselves the first Romford side in 8 years to get some form of prize from the Essex festival. Now we are in prime position to win ourselves a place in division 1 next term.

Bid Hit Sunday award Has to go to Ryan Blinkhorne for his fantastic tackles all day but especially in the Westcliff game. But everyone played their hearts out and I could easily point you all out, so well done lads!

Finally I would like to thank all of the parents for their undying support all day yet again.
