Sun 12 Oct 2014 - Game 1: Romford (home) v Stanford (red/black/white tops)
Team: Alfie, Arbi, Billy C, Billy W, Hayden, Logan, Luke, Reece, William M, (Ian – ref)
Kick off by Stanford, ruck well recovered by Logan with strong ripping by William. Luke intercepted Stanford’s try attempt. Lengthy run by Arbi from Stanford’s end. Ruck over well recovered by Reece. Turned over to Stanford then long run by Stanford nicely tackled by Logan. Great defence and passing by Romford. Scrum with possession to Romford leading to 1st try by Billy W.
Long drop kick off by Stanford leading to the 1st and last try by the away side.
Nicely executed drop kick by Logan then ruck, held off well by Billy C. Play leading to offside.
Great tackling by Arbi followed up by a long run and scrum; possession to Romford then a long and well-dodged run by Logan resulting in Romford’s 2nd try.
Stanford’s ball, recovered by Romford then offside but a great run. Reece came close to a try but the ball got away 1 metre before the line. Recovered by excellent dodging and bringing home Romford’s 3rd try by Arbi.
Skilfully passed out by Stanford, intercepted by Arbi leading to one of his many full length of pitch dodge sprints but sadly tackled within sniffing distance of the try line. 3-1 at HALF TIME.
Second half kicked off by Luke; play resulting in scrum possession by Stanford but going offside. A dart by Stanford for the try line fired up Arbi to take down Stanford’s big lad from the waist with a well-executed dive tackle.
A ruck followed by scrum; great tackling by Billy C ending a try attempt by Stanford. A 6-man ruck on Romford’s corner resulted in Romford’s 4th try by Reece.
Scrum possession to Stanford then well-ripped away with Stanford’s player was taken down. Scrum possession to Romford; excellent passing down the defence line resulting in a well-executed 5th try by Arbi for Romford.
A strong defence by Romford held Stanford off near their try line then a long run by Hayden was finished nicely off to bring home Romford’s 6th try by Arbi.
Another scrum then passed down the line in well-executed fashion to produce Romford’s 7th try by Arbi.
Stanford’s drop kick well caught by Billy W. Ruck ending in ball to Stanford then offside.
Then another ruck held off by Billy W and a great dive tackle by Hayden who appeared to see stars momentarily but soon bounced back. Strong man! Great passing down the defence line resulting in Romford’s 8th try by William. Romford rolled up everything they knew about teamwork and gave it their all in this match! (40 -5 to Romford)

Team: Anthony, Billy C, Billy W, Charlie, Kieron, Kyle, Lee, Louie, Luke, Sam S, Sam W (Ian – ref)
Kick off by Brentwood nicely caught by Lee and passed down the defence. Ball passed out by Kyle to Kieron. Ruck possession to Romford with Kyle losing possession with an offside ball. Ruck ripped by Romford but leading to the 1st try by OB. Romford boys appeared to be walking, resulting in 2nd then 3rd try to OB. A few rucks with possession to OB resulting in their 4th try. Billy C injury subbed by Billy W. A ruck near OB’s try line giving their 5th try, closely followed by 6th try. Nice dive tackle by Kyle to take OB out ahead of their try side line. OB fought back to take their 7th try. Good attempt by Kyle to recover ball ending in a slippery skip allowing OB their 8th try. Strong kick off by Billy W followed by a messy ruck and OB taking their 9th try. 9-0 at HALF TIME.
Kick off by Lee then a ruck with possession by Romford; recovered by OB resulting in their 10th try. A knock on with ball possession to Romford followed by a good sprint by Kyle but with a foot slipping over the side line his try was disallowed. Ball then passed down the pitch well, leading to OB’s 11th try. Strong kick by Lee with ball slipping over the line. Then final ruck with possession to OB and strong passing leading to their 12th and final try. (60 - 0 to Old Brentwood)
