report

Romford 30 vs Ilford 10
Sloppy start from Romford missed tackles and not contesting in rucks let a very physical Ilford side take a two try lead. Soon Romford woke up with a crash over by Sam wright followed very quickly with a pitch long run from Arbi Bytyqi and offload to Haydn Jelliss to score the equaliser. Second half park woke and took game by the horns and great weaving run from the ever reliable Logan Petrie scored to put Romford in the lead for the first time in the game. Romford never looked back after that with a quick charging try from William Meenear followed by quick long solo try from Arbi Bytyqi.Romford final try of the game came in the way of the power of Reece Stevens crashing over three Ilford defenders to finish the scoring.

Romford Development 20 vs Bancroft 20

Romford took to the field after last week in defective mood but woke up and showed that they can play some quality rugby with new players joining old heads Bancroft started the stronger taking the lead but strait from the kick off Kyle White sprinted the whole length off pitch to score Romford’s first. Second came from the clever thinking of Luke Brindley quick tap and go creating space for Ben Chaplin to go over to put park in lead. Two quick try’s from Bancroft put Romford back on back foot but stayed strong and the flying Charlie Mclenagan run down the wing to score and the final try of the game came from Anthony Fordham the first try for Romford in only his third game for the club.

Romford 20 vs Bancroft 20

Romford started this game with a point to prove as Bancroft beat a strong park team at our festival so they did listen to coaches and came out the blocks quick with a driving maul sending Sam Wright over for the first. Second try came from some slick passing and big tackles from Billy costa and Arbi Bytyqi creating space for Sam Wrights second of the game. Romford’s third try came the best off the day with fantastic link up play between Billy Watts and Reece Stevens setting up William Meenear to crash over, Bancroft did not lie down and fought back with a few good tries of their own but it was Romford who had the last try and down to eight men Billy Watts solo try finish drawn.
