Romford u11 loose winning run on cold sunday morning

Romford loose there first game of this season on a freezing morning at crow lane kick off delayed until 11am.

Game 1
> Romford 2 - 5 Ongar
> On a hard and icy pitch, the Park boys took a while to warm up, whilst
> Ongar came to play. Park paid the price for missing tackles and standing
> off rucks and went into half time 4 tries to nil down. It could have been
> worse had Billy W and William M not have made try saving tackles on their
> own line.
> The second half saw a livelier Park with Reece, Billy C and Lee winning
> rucks and making tackles like their lives depended on it. Luke and Sam W
> combined well to make good ground, and Kyle picked up the first try of the
> second half. A more physical Ongar then powered through the park defence
> for try number 5, but Park responded immediately through a hazy Haydn solo
> run that resulted in a well deserved second try. The rest of the half saw
> park attacking Ongar, but could not break through the tight defence.

> Game 2
> Romford 3 - 6 Ilford
> Ilford played to their strength taking the ball down the middle forcing
> Park to tackle and ruck to counter. Billy C make a good individual run from
> a turn over to open the scoring. The two sides were well matched and it
> remained this way until half time.
> Logan took the restart, and ran the ball back for try number 2. Ilford
> continued to push and got a well deserved try in the corner. They then
> stole a ruck to make it honours even. Some clever passing and a dummy run
> from Haydn saw Anthony restore the Park lead.
> Unfortunately the Park boys lost focus and a series of missed tackles not
> only allowed Ilford back in, but to score a further 2 tries to take the
> win.
