Under 11's Off To A Slow Start

Romfords first game of the season saw Old Brentwoods visit crow lane in what was a shaky start to the new year for the Romford boys. It was a bit of a stop start affair with both sides taking on a couple of injuries with some big tackles stopping play.

First Match: RGP 2 – Upper Brentwood 2
Try Scorers: Ben Okonkwo, Shayden Smith

Upper Brentwood opened up well with the only try in the first half. They started strong and put some good pressure on Romfords line with some nice rugby. Romford didn’t look themselves, they played well at times with some nice tackling and a few decent runs and manged to claw back the game with a couple of try’s in the second half to draw the match in what was a very even contest.

Second Match: RGP 1 – Upper Brentwood 3
Try Scorers: Ben Okonkwo

Romford lost concentration at the start of the second game and Old Brentwood sneaked two try’s in the first half. Romford replied well and Ben Okonkwo stormed through Upper Brentwoods defence brushing aside a couple of their players to score a nice try. It was 2 -1 and was looking like another draw may be on the cards but the opposition snatched another one and it was not going to be Romfords morning. It finished up 3 -1 in another tight evenly matched game.
