U8's keep form going

Romford were at home this week end, with South Woodem Ferrers and Epping making the trip to Crow lane. With the ongoing numbers problem, Romford fielded their usual suspects less Brian Corr (Holy Communion)

William Oliver, Rocky Slade, Freddy Clark, Max Salmon, Riley Claxton-Smith, Jimmy Doman and George Hiller.

With Epping and SWF bringing two teams, their 2 coaches decided on picking their best sides each to play a mini tournament, with the top two playing a final.
Romford played both SWF then Epping in what ended up with 2 draws then played a final with Epping.

Romford started against SWF with some free flowing attacking play, the boys are starting to gel going forward, supporting the ball carrier left and right and scoring at will. Defence was a different story, lazy running, lack of concentration and poor stucture let SWF back in the game, which ended in a draw.

The Epping game was the same, Romford racing ahead but poor passing, ball retention and taking the ball into touch costing Romford dear ending in another draw.

SWF v Epping gave Romford a chance to regroup, whilst they waited to play the winner the frustrated coach put them through some defensive drills. This seem to hit home as the boys breezed pass Epping in the final. Slade, Doman, and Claxton-Smith got Romford in front. Some great defence by Oliver and Hiller kept Romford comfortably ahead, whilst strong running by Clark and Salmon pushed back Epping in what ended in an easy win. Romford narowly keep this seasons unbeaten run going.
